My favourite thing to do in Amsterdam is walk. The streets are so pretty throughout the year and are always full of little surprises. Every day I notice something new, a store, some interesting architecture or cool healthy places to eat. I always walk to work or to my meetings if I have the time, as it is much more relaxing than cycling on my bike. I only use the bike if I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to walk.
I like to wear comfy shoes during the day as much as possible, especially when I’m with my clients, but often carry a second pair of footwear with me in case of an event after work, meeting friends for drink or going straight to the gym. Having a couple of pairs of the Morena Morena fold-up flats means I can carry a spare pair of shoes easily without needing an extra bag to put them in, as they slip easily into my work bag.
The area of Amsterdam I love the most is the Jordaan District and I am lucky to live and work in this part of the city. It has a village feel about it and often I have to remind myself I’m in the middle of a city. There are a great range of boutique shops, healthy places to eat and quirky bars to grab a drink with a friend.
Another place I love to go to is the Museumplein, home to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. It’s a nice area of open space and a good meeting point for having a chat with a friend on a nice sunny day.
On a weekend if it’s nice weather you may find me hanging out in the Westerpark as it’s close to home. A great place for a barbecue and a few beers while catching some rays of sunshine. It is also a top spot to meet people and make new friends! There are some nice restaurants and bars also in the park in case you get a bit hungry.
There is still a lot of the city that I have yet to explore, but I’m all prepared now with my Morena Morena flats and I can’t wait to find some new places!
